Some run one night, like the Caledonian Sleeper; others run four, like The Canadian.

It depends on what you want.

The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is the most famous luxury sleeper; the California Zephyr and The Canadian are the great mountain crossings; The Ghan is the outback expedition; the Caledonian Sleeper is the best single night in Britain.
