European Sleeper has announced its first route into the Nordic countries: a night train from Brussels and Amsterdam to Copenhagen, continuing to Malmö in Sweden, targeted for April 2028.
The train would run three times a week in each direction, calling at Antwerp, Rotterdam and The Hague on the way north.
Departures at both ends are planned for around 19:00, arriving at about 10:00 the next morning.

Why it matters
Today, getting from the Low Countries to Scandinavia overnight means changing in Hamburg or Berlin.
European Sleeper already serves Hamburg-Harburg on its Paris–Berlin train, which it added in July 2026 partly for Nordic connections; a direct train would remove the change.
The company says preparations for its long-planned Brussels–Barcelona route are also progressing, with 2028 now the target.
That route has slipped several times since it was chosen as an EU pilot project in 2023, so both dates are best treated as intentions.
